The story of Custom Homes
For over 30 years Custom Homes has been designing and building homes across Queenstown and Central Otago. What began with Greg McLeod has grown into a family run building company built around one simple idea: a better home building experience starts with better collaboration.
Early on we saw too many beautiful designs created without enough thought for the realities of building them. Clients would put time and money into plans, only to find that the home they wanted did not line up with their budget or with what could realistically be built. That experience shaped the way the company works today.
So the builder should be in it early, working alongside clients, designers and consultants from the beginning. Bringing construction knowledge into the process early is what lets us find the problems while they are still cheap, manage the budget honestly, and keep the design true to what the client actually wanted.

Building a custom home is about far more than putting up a house. It is about understanding how people want to live, then bringing design, craftsmanship, materials and construction together to make something genuinely personal. We remain family run, with the experience for complex, highly considered homes and the personal approach that has always been the point.
